Thirteen year-elderly city brat Ben (Brandon Tyler Russell) has concluded it again... and his struggling, alone mother (Mira Sorvino) has had sufficiency of him getting into mischief. Now, Ben has to fix upon between going down the path of Juvi entry or spending the summer in Iowa adhering a farm with his estranged grandfather, Jack (Peter Fonda). The day ~wards arriving, Ben is ready to allowance. To help Ben get a friend, Jack gets him a smart farm dog from ~y animal shelter to keep Ben crew and in line. Between the dog and a kind neighbor (Louis Gossett, Jr.), Ben in a short time learns life lessons about friendship, household and responsibility. It may take a hamlet to raise a child, but when you only have a handful of the masses and a dog at your party, you have to make do with what you have. Through it whole, Ben has the most memorable summer of his life.
